Cases, Case Law and Legislation

The Cases tab brings your case files and documents into Word, and lets you search case law and legislation and insert the citations you find straight into the petition you are writing.

This tab is only visible on accounts where the Litigation Management module is active. The Case Law and Legislation sub-tabs additionally require the relevant search licences.

List — Cases and case files

1. Go to Cases → List.

2. Search using the Search cases... box or narrow the list with the Status filter.

3. Click a case — the documents attached to that case are listed.

4. Use the Search documents... box to search among the documents within the case.

5. Click a document to transfer its content into Word, or upload the document open in Word to the case as a new file.

1. Go to Cases → Case Law.

2. Type your subject into the search box. You can use the institution filter inside the query:

3. Results are sorted by relevance. Click a decision to read its full text in the task pane.

4. To use the text of a decision:

  • Copy citation — copies the citation details to the clipboard.
  • Insert citation — inserts the citation at the cursor position in the Word document.

5. If you want to quote a specific passage from the decision, select that passage in the text first, then click Insert citation. If you insert without a selection, only the reference details are added.

1. Go to Cases → Legislation.

2. Type the name of the legislation or the concept you are looking for into the search box (for example: Türk Ceza Kanunu).

3. Click the relevant legislation in the results — the full text opens in the task pane.

4. Select the article text and use Insert citation to add it to the document, or Copy citation to put it on the clipboard.
